Last day of work yesterday. I was actually sadder to leave than I expected to be. That is a crazy office, and I don't know how they're going to manage without me. Tomorrow (well, today really) is my last day at work. I have been going through various contortions for the last several hours, trying to get some photos to print so I can give them to my coworkers as goodbye presents, only to finally discover that there is no color ink in the printer. The initial dark night of the soul has passed. The verdict is that Monica is on holiday from chemo until September, and while that means uncertainty, it also means she has a three-month respite from feeling like shit for a week or more every month. A friend of mine from high school gave birth to her first child today, the same day that one of our patients at work died. I feel like this is somehow significant.

Last week was absolutely hellacious. Monica and Hello Nurse were both out of the office for almost the entire week, so Boss Lady had no one to yell at except me. Not fun. Thank heavens for the long weekend. I spent it at the beach and got sunburned ( Read more... )
